Bhimbetka is a place which is located in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh. The place is well known for the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, an archaeological World Heritage Site. These Rock Shelters manifest the existence of earliest human life. These Rock Shelters have also led to the establishment of various other cues which relate to the glorious past of the country.These are mainly in the colours of red and white and depict activities such as hunting, dancing, music, horse and elephant riding. Popular religious and ritual symbols have also been found. They are an important aspect of the cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh as well as of India. This has helped in the growth of the Madhya Pradesh tourism to significant proportion.
These Rock Shelters were actually caves in their initial form but with time they have evolved into magnificent rock shelters and are also referred to as the Bhimbetka caves. The Bhimbetka cave displays a myriad cultural cues which provide deep insight of the various practices and rituals which were earlier practiced. Location of Bhimbetka
Bhimbetka is located at a distance of 46km. to the south of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. Bordered by the northern fringe of the Vindhyan ranges, Bhimbetka is a rocky terrain of dense forest and craggy cliffs. Apart from the mystic beauty of nature, what brings Bhimbetka on the tourist map is the discovery of over 600 rock shelters belonging to the Neolithic age. Here, paintings in over 500 caves depict in vivid panoramic detail the life of the pre-historic man. An archaeological treasure, this region has been declared a World Heritage Site.

Day 01: Visit Bhojpur and Bhimbetika
Bhopal to Bhojpur 28 kms, Bhojpur to Bhimbetka 30 kms
After breakfast departure to Bhojpur, Arrival at Bhojpur after 1 hours. Visit Shiv Mandir. This shiv Mandir have the biggest shivling in world.
Move to Bhimbetika. It is around 35 K.M. from the Bhojpur. Surrounded by the northern fringe of the Vindhya mountain range, Bhimbetka is also known as Bhima’s Lounge (Bhima was the second of the five Pandava princes in the Hindu epic Mahabharata). Some of the drawings in white are reminiscent of the cave paintings in Pachmarhi, making the Bhimbetka group an archaeological treasure trove, an invaluable chronicle in the history of man. Day 2: Bhimbetka local siteseeing
After breakfast you will visit for local siteseeing i.e Bhimbetka Caves & Bhimbetka Rock Shelter A pre-historic site, its giant rock formation must have provided ample shelter to the ancient tribes that dwelt here. Recently, about 760 rock shelters of the Neolithic age (circa 8,000 b.c.) were discovered here. These shelters are decorated with picture writings, depicting the life and times of pre-historic cave dwellers. Overnight stay at Bhimbetka
Day 3: Departs from Bhimbetka
After breakfast you will proceed to Bhopal and drop to railway st. for onwards journey. Tour ends
Day 01 Local sightseeing of Bhopal.
Morning after breakfast move out from hotel at 09:00 AM to visit City of lakes, Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh combines scenic beauty, historicity and modern urban planning. It is situated on the site of an 11th century city, Bhojapal, founded by Raja Bhoja. Start the city Tour from Government Archaeological Museum , Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Van Vihar, after Van Vihar move for lunch at Wind & Waves Restaurant at Lake View, from their move to Upper lake, Bharat Bhawan, Marine Drive i.e. VIP Road for some good Photoshoot, than move to Mahaveer Giri (Manbhavan Tekri) while returning visit Jama Masjid, Moti Masjid and Gohar Mahal and in the evening move to famous Birla Mandir (Laxmi Narayan). After that our last spot will be Sair Sapata, a picnic spot developed by Madhya Pradesh Tourism. You can Have your dinner at the same place or there are many options in Bhopal for Buffet Dinner. Return to Hotel for night stay.
Day 02 Visit Bhojpur and Bhimbetika & depart to Pachmerhi.

Toady no early morning wake up, take your own time, have your breakfast gear up for some local sightseeing of places like Mahadev, Pandav Caves, church, Parks, Handi Kho and Choura Garh in the evening return to hotel delicious dinner and night stay.
Day 04 Gypsy 0n sharing basis to visit Bee Fall, Dhoop Garh. ( Gypsy not included in cost)( Carry spare clothes and Towels while travelling to Bee Fall)
Early morning after breakfast check out from hotel and move out to visit some more places of Pachmarhi Specially Jatashankar, Dhoopgarh and Bee Fall and some more places. In the evening after sightseeing return to Hotel for night stay.

Bhimbetka rock shelters are open for visitors in day time, through out the year. So as per convenience, one can visit this world heritage site in any season. Considering the climate, we recommend to visit Bhimbetka site from October to April during which of the tourist do the tour of Madhya Pradesh.

By Air: The Raja Bhoj airport at Bhopal, 46 km away, is the nearest airport. Bhopal airport is connected to Mumbai, Indore, Gwalior and Delhi. Private taxis are available from the airport to reach Bhimbetka.
By Train: Bhopal lies on the main line between Delhi and Chennai. It’s a major junction and all trains stop at Bhopal. Do not forget to book tickets in advance as finding berths on superfast or express trains could get difficult at times.
By Road: Bhimbetka is well connected by bus with Bhopal. Bhimbetka lies on the road linking Bhopal with Hoshangabad. The route is serviced by regular mini-bus services. Besides being crowded, it drops you on the highway and you will have to find means to reach the caves. Hiring a taxi from Bhopal is the best way to reach Bhimbetka.
