Global Village Dubai: Overview

Global Village is the largest seasonal cultural extravaganza in the region that offers visitors an amazing array of festivals, shopping and entertainment in an open-air theme park. This entertainment and shopping destination is open from November through to April and hosts over 70 participating countries presented in over 36 pavilions, with more than 50 fun rides and 26 restaurants offering food from around the world. The Global Village fair in Dubai is opening on Saturday with a series of new attractions and features, including a new funfair, food court, and three new country representations.  It is located on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (previously called Emirates Road). Global Village will also be running themed events to correspond with major festivals and celebrations – for Eid Al Adha, Diwali, National Day, Christmas and other occasion.
 

Entertainment At Global Village

The Global Village offers the best in family entertainment, as it hosts shows ranging from thrilling stunt shows, street performances, bespoke spectacular shows and cultural shows from across the world. Global Village emphasizes that families will enjoy every minute at the Village with plenty to see and do, as the village hosts more than 12,000 shows in just five months. Not to be missed this season are the firework displays on Thursdays and Fridays at 9pm and the Parade every Friday at 8.30pm.

• The family pack costs INR 3800/ 54 $

• Economy pack costs 1900/ 27 $

Activities at Global Village

Concerts

This season, Global Village will be hosting concerts every Friday, with entry ticket priced at INR 300/ 4$ International stars from across Asia, Middle East and the world, will take to the Main Cultural Stage every Friday 9pm. Among the confirmed list of participants are Mika Singh, Cheb Khalid, Sunidhi Chauhan, Atif Aslam, Mohammed Assaf, and Omar Abdul Lal.

Stage Shows

The Global Village Cultural Main Stage will offer you a new kind of entertainment this year, ranging from traditional stories depicting a blend of festivals introduced with latest light and sound techniques to special effects that can surely awaken your senses.

Cultural shows

Global Village showcases culture and heritage of various countries, and just as is the case every year, this year too Global Village will host variety of shows on the main cultural stage representing different cultures.

Globo Shows

Global Village will continue to present the much awaited Globo Shows this season, wherein Globo and his friends will be seen overcoming every obstacle with the help of kids from the audience. The show offers opportunities for kids to meet and play with Globo and this season, Globo’s gang will include two new friends, the Bat and the Kangaroo.

Pavilion Shows

The entertainment and cultural shows at Global Village are not limited to the main stage and street performances alone. Every pavilion will accommodate dance and music that showcase the culture and heritage of the country they represent. The show will include dance performances like traditional Arabic dance, Yemeni dagger dance, the UAE’s traditional Yola, and more.

Emirati Concerts

Global Village presents two concerts in one day with the popular Emirati singers, Mohammad Al Minhaly and Walid Ibrahim.

Shaabiat Al Cartoon

Global Village presents the most popular Emirates Cartoon Show, Shaabiat Al Cartoon, with popular charater, Shambiah being on the main cultural stage.

Emirati Shows

Emirates shows will be presented by Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, involving lot of cultural shows with Emirati performances like Al Harbiya, Ayyala, Al Yolla on the main cultural stage.

My Blood, My Country Campaign: Global Village hosts ‘My Blood My Country’ campaign for blood donation in a special tent near Gate of the World, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.

Fireworks display and Carnival of the World: The sky of Global Village will be lit with an amazing fireworks display, while the Carnical of the World will take to streets of Global Village with cultural shows from over 75 country pavilions.

Special Attractions

Children Kingdom: Global Village, like always is special for children, and this season, the Village has already allocated a Kingdom for them. It is a place where children of all age groups can have fun, entertainment and happiness. Children Kingdom has a professional team and specialists trained in dealing with Children. You get to enjoy Global Village events and activities and can be assured that your children get their share of fun and entertainment.

The Fantasy Island: Global Village presents ‘The Fantasy Island’, operated and managed by the British Organization, ‘Mellors Group, comprising ‘The Fantasy Funfair ground’ aimed at wooing families and adventure seekers. It has various skill-based games and thrill rides, apart from children’s rides, and family rides, with a starting fare of INR 190/ 2.5$

Shopping At Global Village

Global Village hosts more than 3500 shops, which makes it the ultimate destination for authentic shopping, as it displays a mix of modern and cultural products and unique handmade global items. The retail outlets at Global Village exhibits culturally rooted products like handicrafts, desserts, traditional cuisines, all prepared right in front of visitors, apart from other authentic products, to draw tourists every season. Global Village also includes about 150 different kiosks, offering a unique shopping experience in the form of top art handicrafts, and authentic products from across the world, apart from food and beverages.

Dining At Global Village

Global Village unveils the world of cuisines to visitors, with its long list of menus ranging from local to international restaurants, snack outlets and cafes. Even the savour of fruits to Global Village is brought in from various continents. Global Village this year, presents a collection of 17 restaurants, hosted with international cuisines, offering visitors a unique culinary experience. Among the list of restaurants this year are, Galito’s restaurant, Bab Tuma, Wok In a Box, Reem Al Bawadi to name a few. One of the popular cafes at this year’s Global Village is ‘Nattas Café’, a Portuguese coffee shop and ‘Churros’ for snack and fried dough. Apart from the said, Global Village will be back with more than 120 themed food kiosks offering street food experience, covering a large variety of cuisines and offering guests a taste of authentic flavours and the ultimate in street food experience.
