How to Reach Mahabaleshwar

By Flight: Pune airport located at a distance of 120 km is the nearest airport from where tourists can come down from different parts of the country.  The airport has various facilities within its premises for tourists traveling to the place. State operated buses are also easily available from Pune. Even private tour-operators provide luxury/ non- luxury bus services to Mahabaleshwar.

By Bus: From Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar is 285 km (via Pune route) and the distance is about 247 km (via Mahad route). There are regular state-operated buses that travel to Mahabaleshwar from the nearby cities of Pune and Mumbai.

By Train: The nearest railhead from Mahabaleshwar is Wather, located at a distance of 62 km from the city. Pratapgarh Fort: Pratapgad Fort is the pride of Maratha Empire. The ecstatic monument was built in 1656 is known for the battle between one of finest warriors of their times Afzal Khan and Shivaji. An idol of Lord Krishna can be seen inside the temple since it is dedicated to him. The Panchganga Temple was constructed by Raja Singha Deo who was the ruler of the Yadavs of Devagiri.
